Whether you're a parent looking for support for your teen navigating pressure and big emotions, an adult trying to move through anxiety or a difficult chapter, or a couple wanting to reconnect, counseling can meet you where you are.
I'm Catherine Solomon, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Allen, Texas. I provide general mental health counseling for clients ages 13 and up, with a specialization in marriage and couples counseling. My approach is warm, practical, and rooted in evidence-based frameworks with the goal of giving you tools you can actually use, not just insight.
I offer in-person sessions at my Allen office, and telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Texas.
Support for adolescents facing anxiety, depression, academic pressure, identity questions, peer relationships, family conflict, and life transitions. I create a space where teens feel actually heard, not just "fixed" while keeping parents appropriately informed.
Ages 13-17
Therapy for adults navigating anxiety, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, women's issues, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, spirituality, and relationship concerns. A practical, holistic approach to help you feel grounded and move forward.
Marriage counseling, couples counseling, and premarital counseling are my named area of specialization — using the Gottman Method along with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches. Whether you're engaged, newly married, or decades in, therapy can help you build (or rebuild) communication, trust, and connection.
My Specialty
Marriage and Couples Coaching
I believe real change happens when people are equipped with practical tools, not just insight. My work is holistic, warm, and rooted in evidence-based frameworks, but I tailor everything to the person in front of me.
With individuals I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused approaches, mindfulness, and attachment-based work.
With couples (my specialization) I primarily use the Gottman Method along with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This framework is research-backed and gives couples a concrete roadmap for changing the patterns that keep them stuck.
Faith-based or Christian counseling is available for clients who request it.
The goal is always the same: to help you better understand what's happening, equip you with real tools, and support you as you move toward the life and relationships you want.
Couples who want to work on their conflict resolution skills together have also benefited from my "Couples Communication Roadmap" self-paced online course.

Working with Catherine helped my husband and I work on appreciating each other more and being able to listen to each other rather than just hear each other. Our communication is becoming healthier and more effective. The fact that she shares that she also had struggled with marriage just made me normalize issues in our marriage and made me feel like we were not alone. My husband and I are in a much better place now with fewer arguments and more understanding of each other!

I always looked forward to our sessions because Catherine was constantly positive and uplifting, willing to have a listening ear and very empathetic regardless of the situation. She does a great job diving into topics to learn as much as she can about a situation, and giving holistic feedback that focuses on my goals for stress management and anxiety. Working with Catherine helped me build healthy communication practices with issues I was going through in my mental health journey. Through our time together, I was able to determine certain triggers and issues feeding my struggles and how to implement practices when I might feel anxiety-filled moments coming on. She also helped me understand small and simple practices I could implement in my daily life to reach my goals and find more Christ-centered peace.

Working with Catherine has helped me regulate the constant fight I was in. I am now able to control my emotions. Having someone who asked questions to help get to the root of my feelings and to listen when I needed to process life events was great. I’m forever grateful for Catherine and therapy.

This has been a very eye opening experience. Going to couples counseling was a little scary at first even if we knew we would benefit. I can definitely say that my only regret was not going sooner.
